American Legion Post 520  and the Ladies Auxiliary Unit 520 are proud to announce their Welcome Home Party for the Troops  on Saturday  April 14, 2012, from 11 AM to 6 PM.  The event is open to everyone.  Veterans their extended families and friends and members of the community are all invited to a day of fun and entertainment featuring Henry Becker & Team Honky Tonk.  There will be food, carnival games, opportunity drawings, a 50/50 raffle and food.

The theme is "A Hometown Carnival".  This will be a two fold event.  Commander Al Barba and President Kat Haas would like everyone to know the Legion is here and what a wonderful outreach they can provide.  The Legion has many programs that people are not aware of, including scholarship opportunities for families of veterans. There are numerous  youth programs to promote education in our schools. Each year the Ladies Auxiliary sponsors Girls State for Junior Girls in High School. The men of the Legion also support Boys State.  These programs have had many individuals go on to great positions of leadership.  President Clinton went to Boys State. The Chamber announces with a heavy heart the passing of Dr. Roland E. Loudermilk, D.C.  Loudermilk Chiropractic has been a member of the Sun Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Since 1994.

April 1, 1941--February 24, 2012

Dr. Roland E. Loudermilk of North Hollywood, California passed away on February 24, 2012 at home surrounded by his wife and family after a brave struggle with a terminal form of cancer. A Memorial Service will held beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Mortuary, 10621 Victory Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91606.

Dr. Loudermilk, "Rusty," was a caring and generous man. He loved his family, looked out for his friends, and did his best to bring healing to all his patients. He was always there when anyone needed him.

Rusty loved to clown around and entertaining his friends, family, and even strangers with his jokes and silly stories. He had a great passion for the earth and its creatures. He loved playing tennis and watching sports on TV. Rusty loved Old Western movies, and acting; he was able to combine these three loves into a short movie entitled "The Prospector" that was filmed last year.

Dr. Loudermilk leaves his loving wife Margit, daughter Betina, and son David, sisters, Della, Clarissa, Thelma, Frances, and brother Paul, and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
