A celebration of Anne Finn's life will take place on Saturday, April 24 at 1 p.m. The family is finalizing plans for the L.A. location of this celebration. The location will be posted here in the next few days.
The Increase was in response to the Mayor's proposed goal for LADWP to get at least 20% of its electricity from renewable sources as well as to protect the DWP from having its credit rating decreased. The approximate 0.6 cents per kilowatt/hr is less than the 0.8 cents the Mayor had asked for at the beginning of March. The Council put further limitations on further increases pending on safeguards by the DWP that the money from these hikes will be spent efficiently. If adopted by the DWP the rates will begin to increase on Thursday, April 1, and will continue until July. The Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), California Latino Water Coalition (CLWC) and State of California’s Comprehensive Water Package will hold an informational forum that will discuss the comprehensive water package, which was passed by the legislature and signed by the Governor last year. This historic package contains four policy bills along with an $11.14 billion general obligation bond proposal that voters will consider on the November 2010 ballot.
